Johannes Goritzki conducted at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Cologne Philharmonie, was guest conductor at Gasteig Munich, Konzerthaus Berlin, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Tonhalle Duesseldorf and at Concertgebouw Amsterdam among others. He presented himself in Santa Cecilia in Rome, at the Salle Gaveau in Paris, at the Tivoli in Copenhagen, at Mozarteum in Salzburg, at Wiener Musikvereinssaal and at a reopening gala of the Teatro Felice in Genoa.

He conducted Graun’s Montezuma and Mozart’s Cosi at the operahouse Bellas Artes in Mexico City, additionally he made a guest appearance at Berliner Festwochen, the Bucharest Enescu-Festival, at the Finnish Kuhmo, and – invited by Gidon Kremer – in Lockenhaus. Johannes Goritzki conducted the Radio Orchestras of WDR Köln, SWF Baden-Baden, MDR Leipzig, BR München, NDR Hannover, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Münchener Kammerorchester, Bamberger Symphoniker, Schumann Philharmonie Chemnitz, Orchestre de chambre Lausanne, Orchestre Philharmonique de Montpellier, Philharmonic Orchestra Kiew, Odense Symphonic Orchestra, MCO Radio Kamerorkest Hilversum, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Korean Philharmonic Orchestra Seoul and the Estonian National Orchestra Tallinn among others.

Johannes Goritzki conducted famous musicians such as Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Nikita Magaloff, Radu Lupu, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Aurèle Nicolet, Boris Pergamenschikov, Natalia Gutmann, Heinrich Schiff, François René Duchable, Thomas Quasthoff and Hidegard Behrens – among others – played a musical spectrum from baroque to avantgarde.

He has collaborated intensively with the well-known contemporary composers:
Krzysztof Penderecki, who for many years, as a result of their exceptional partnership, often conducted the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein;
Isang Yun, who composed the Duetto Concertante for Oboe, Cello and String Orchestra for Johannes’ brother Ingo and Johannes himself;
Sandor Veress, whose Cello Sonata was given its first performances in Switzerland, Germany, and the UK by Johannes Goritzki, then later recorded by him for Thorofon;
György Ligeti, who realized the final version of his Piano Concerto together with Johannes Goritzki and the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein, subsequently premiering it at the Festival l’Île de France in Paris.

cpo as a label of partnership for decades.

With the label cpo Johannes Goritzki has recorded the four symphonies of George Onslow – Weber’s contemporary who deserves more frequent programming – and who, in his lifetime, gained reputation as the composer of some wonderful chamber music pieces and whose orchestral works found the appreciation of someone as strict as Robert Schumann. Johannes Goritzki made this recording together with the Radio-Philharmonie Hannover des NDR. With the same orchestra and also with the label cpo he recorded the three symphonies and two concert overtures of Louise Farrenc whose talent was discovered by Hector Berlioz. Franz Lehár’s one-act play Frühling (Spring) appeared in the beginning of 2001 – being one of those works between Land des Lächelns and Lustige Witwe which had for a long time sunk into oblivion. This recording was awarded CD of the year in England in 2001. 2003 saw the recording of the operetta Der Sterngucker (The Stargazer), also released at cpo. This CD was awarded with Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.

In 2007 and 2008 the label cpo released another two CDs with Johannes Goritzki in collaboration with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester: Symphonies by Georg Christoph Wagenseil were released in 2007 whereas the concertos for cello in C major (G 477) and D major (G 479) together with two symphonies by Luigi Boccherini had been recorded one year later.

One realease published by the label Dabringhaus und Grimm in January 2010 is the concerto for oboe and orchestra by Bohuslav Martinu and the debut recording of the divertimento for oboe and orchestra by Antal Dorati. Johannes Goritzki recorded both works with the Munich Radio Orchestra. The solo oboist is Yeon-Hee Kwack.
